Significado de la celebración
El Jueves Santo se celebra:
- La Última Cena.
- El Lavatorio de los pies,
- La institución de la Eucaristía y del Sacerdocio
- La oración de Jesús en el Huerto de Getsemaní.
En la mañana de este día,
en todas las catedrales de cada
diócesis, el obispo reúne a los sacerdotes
en torno al altar y, en una Misa solemne,
se consagran los Santos Óleos que se
usan en los Sacramentos del Bautismo,
Confirmación,
Orden Sacerdotal y
Unción de los Enfermos.
En la Misa vespertina,
antes del ofertorio,
el sacerdote celebrante
toma una toalla y una bandeja
con agua y lava los pies de doce varones,
recordando el mismo gesto de Jesús
con sus apóstoles en
la Última Cena.

se quedó con nosotros
en la Eucaristía,
para guiarnos en el
camino de la salvación.
Todos estamos invitados a
celebrar la cena instituida
por Jesús. Esta noche santa,
Cristo nos deja su Cuerpo y su Sangre.
Revivamos este gran don y
comprometámonos a servir a
nuestros hermanos.

Jesús en este pasaje del Evangelio
nos enseña a servir con humildad y
de corazón a los demás.
Este es el mejor camino para seguir a
Jesús y para demostrarle nuestra fe en Él.
Recordar que esta no es la única vez
que Jesús nos habla acerca del servicio.
Debemos procurar esta virtud
para nuestra vida de todos los días.

Lectura del Evangelio según San Marcos14, 32-42.:
Reflexionemos con Jesús en lo
que sentía en estos momentos:
su miedo, la angustia ante la muerte,
la tristeza por ser traicionado,
su soledad, su compromiso
por cumplir la voluntad de Dios,
su obediencia a Dios Padre y
su confianza en Él.
Las virtudes que nos enseña
Jesús este día, entre otras,
son la
obediencia,
la generosidad y
la humildad.
Los monumentos y la visita de las siete iglesias
Se acostumbra,
después de la Misa vespertina,
hacer un monumento para resaltar
la Eucaristía y exponerla de una
manera solemne para la
adoración de los fieles.
La Iglesia pide dedicar un
momento de adoración y de
agradecimiento a Jesús,
un acompañar a Jesús en la
oración del huerto.
Es por esta razón que las
Iglesias preparan sus
monumentos.
Este es un día solemne.
En la visita de las siete iglesias
o siete templos, se acostumbra
llevar a cabo una breve oración
en la que se dan gracias al Señor
por todo su amor al quedarse
con nosotros.
Esto se hace en siete templos diferentes y
simboliza el ir y venir de Jesús
en la noche de la traición.
Es a lo que refieren cuando
dicen “traerte de Herodes a Pilatos”.
La cena de pascua en tiempos de Jesús
