En una comarca, lejos de un pueblo llamado “El Charco”
vivían muchas familias de escasos recursos económicos.
Esta comarca por su situación geográfica sufría de un clima extremadamente caliente.
Tenía la ventaja que estaba al borde de uno de los ríos más caudalosos.
El Río Magdalena y la población contaba con bastantes arboledas que le daban algo de frescor para hacer la vida más soportable.
En esta comarca vivía un niño muy especial al cual voy a dirigirme porque lo conocí,
Esto quiere decir que estoy narrando un cuento de la vida real, hace ya muchos años.
Manuel tenía unos padres holgazanes (perezosos), que no querían trabajar,
Aun así el padre era vigilante de un bar, pero lamentablemente el dinero se lo gastaba.
Bebiendo con su mujer y no llevaba alimento para sus hijos.
Este niño que contaba en ese entonces con escasos 6 años
Había nacido con una impronta llena de alegría por la vida.
Aunque sus padres mostraban esa conducta y otras más.
Los hacían unos padres no queribles,
Aun así Manuel los amaba y sabiendo que tenía otros hermanitos.
Todos los días le tocaba subir al monte cortar leña, bajarla al supermercado y venderla.
Con ese dinero comprar el desayuno para sus padres y hermanos
Feliz lo hacía sin sentir que era una carga.
Llegaba a su casa, les preparaba agua con panela que acompañaban con pan.
Y al hacerlo sentía una enorme felicidad, aunque viera en sus padres,
caras de pocos amigos, el sonreía satisfecho y seguía con sus labores.
Como si su alma estuviera preparada para no tomar en cuenta.
Lo que a otros posiblemente los afectaría.
Cuando viajaba en ese tiempo a la hacienda,
me tocaba pasar obligatoriamente por esa casita donde moraba Manuel
Siempre estaba afuera jugando con tapas que el aplastaba con piedras.
Ese era su juego favorito, no tenía juguetes.
Pero gozaba en el columpio hecho por el con una llanta y un lazo.
Disfrutaba tirándose al río, jugando con los animalitos y con sus amigos.
Compartían un estilo de vida similar.
Me encantaba conversar con Manuelito,
Siempre tenía una sonrisa que le iluminaba el rostro.
Me saludaba como si fuera una segunda madre.
Yeso me hacía feliz y adoraba charlar con el.
Su actitud era una bocanada de esperanza para mi vida.
En mis continuas charlas una de ellas hizo referencia a la Navidad.
Le pregunté que como la celebraban en su casa y con una carcajada me dijo:
Doctora, nosotros no tenemos Navidad,
ni pensamos en eso, acá lo importante es tener con que comer,
poder ir a la escuela y que la profe si vaya y aprender,
esperando tener un mejor futuro.
MI alma se arrugaba cuando lo escuchaba decir esto,
más inmediatamente al ver su rostro todo volvía a cambiar en mi interior.
El me pregunta:
¿Y cómo celebran la Navidad la gente rica?
Le respondí que arreglábamos un árbol con muchas luces de colores.
Un pesebre con una casita.
Estaban La Virgen y San José y la cunita que esperaba el Nacimiento del Niño Jesús.
Y que el día de su Nacimiento todos en la familia nos reuníamos y cenábamos.
Cantábamos villancicos y después nos obsequiábamos algún regalo.
Manuelito me escuchaba embelesado.
Le pregunté
¿Qué pensaba con lo que le había contado?
Y él me respondió que era un sueño,
Que él quería tener un árbol de Navidad, que cómo podía lograrlo?
Le pregunté: Manuelito
¿Qué haces en las noches cuando te veo acostado en la grama mirando el firmamento?
Y me dijo: mirar las estrellas y soñar que algún día yo pueda ser una de ellas.
Subir hasta allá cuando Jesús me lleve.
¿Tú crees en Jesús?
Le pregunte y me respondió: claro que sí, yo lo puedo ver.
Mi alegría me la da El y la fuerza para seguir luchando.
Para sacar mis hermanos adelante.
Se me salieron las lágrimas con su respuesta.
Y el preocupado me dijo que porqué lloraba.
Le respondí que me había emocionado mucho saber que él no tenía fe,
Sino la certeza de un Jesús que lo amaba y veía con tanto amor y claridad.
Se me ocurrió decirle:
Manuelito tú tienes un cerebro,
Una mente que si pudieras verla en un aparato especial por dentro, es similar al firmamento.
Que ves cada noche, lleno de estrellas, especialmente cuando estamos bien.
Felices, llenos de alegría, entusiasmo y motivación,
Amando lo que hacemos, entonces la mente brilla como las estrellas,
Así que tú tienes UN ARBOL DE NAVIDAD en tu cabeza de niño bueno.
Tienes otro en tu corazón que ama incondicionalmente.
Y un alma que está conectada al Niño Jesús
Por eso siempre estas brillando porque un niño que vive como tú,
nunca dejará de tener su árbol de navidad iluminado.
Tú mismo eres un niño Jesús que da abrigo y apoyo a su familia incondicionalmente.
Y eres padre y madre para todos.
Tú eres un pesebre humano dentro de ti.
y un ÁRBOL DE NAVIDAD al que me enorgullece haber conocido.

Dios tiene cosas grandes para ti, LOS REGALOS ETERNOS
que no se pueden comprar y que todos desearíamos tener.

la calma en medio de la prueba, del problema, de la dificultad.
Paciencia para tener la mejor actitud en medio del conflicto,
para esperar la respuesta a tus peticiones,
y soportar a los amigos o enemigos revoltosos
para alcanzar todas tus metas con tus buenos propósitos.
La amabilidad, para tratar con delicadeza y cortesía a los demás,
